Standard Bank Namibia Announces Appointment of Helena Mboti as our Economist
Standard Bank Namibia is pleased to announce the appointment of Helena Mboti as our Economist.
Ms. Mboti brings a decade of extensive experience across both central banking and commercial banking, offering a well-rounded and insightful perspective on macroeconomic policy, financial markets, and balance-sheet risk.
Her professional background includes significant roles at the Central Bank, where she served as an Economist in the Research Department and later as an Analyst in the Financial Stability Department. Her work encompassed monetary and financial statistics, macroprudential analysis, systemic risk assessment, and financial stability monitoring—providing her with deep exposure to monetary policy formulation and the assessment of risks across Namibia’s financial system.
She has also held the economist role within the FirstRand Namibia Group across FNB/RMB, Ashburton, and Pointbreak, where she supported group-wide macroeconomic analysis and policy interpretation. In these positions, she translated complex global and regional economic developments into strategic insights to inform senior leadership and guide organisational decision-making.
In her new role as our Economist, Ms. Mboti will drive Standard Bank Namibia’s economic research agenda by delivering forward looking macroeconomic analysis, comprehensive risk assessments, and thought leadership. Her expertise will support strategic planning, enhance economic intelligence across the institution, and strengthen engagement with key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
Standard Bank Namibia warmly welcomes Helena Mboti to the organisation and looks forward to the analytical rigour, expertise, and strategic perspective she brings to the Group.
