Standard Bank partners with Telecom Namibia for a N$48 million Bluefuel fleet system
Standard Bank Namibia’s Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division has been awarded the bid to provide a Fuel Payment Solution (BlueFuel) to Telecom Namibia, valued at N$48 million for a period of 3 years. The agreement was officially penned on the 20th of February 2025, by Mr. Nelson Lucas the Head of CIB at Standard Bank Namibia, and Mr. Festus Hamukwaya, Acting Executive for Legal and Compliance at Telecom.
The partnership intends to contribute to the expansion of telecoms business practises and drive growth by providing a hassle-free way to manage, monitor and control fleet refueling and vehicle maintenance in real-time. In this fast evolving era, with innovative technology, BlueFuel ensures that only authorized vehicles can fill up or be maintained without the need to purchase and install expensive vehicle hardware. Designated drivers can authorize transactions using their driver pins for added security against fraud.
Since all BlueFuel transactions are securely authorized in real time, they can be checked against multiple configurable rules using their unprecedented technology. Real time reporting of the approved or declined transactions offers a proactive control of expenses and these reports can be accessed instantly via the BlueFuel Mobile App.
BlueFuel offers a safe and convenient way to pay by eliminating the need to carry cash, offering increased security to protect businesses against possible fraudulent transactions. This system acts as a management tool to effectively manage financial, technical, and operational costs. Fuel monitoring and vehicle tracking are optional features available, offering more control.
This partnership highlights Standard Bank Namibia’s increasing commitment to Powering Positive Impact by providing businesses with innovative solutions and financial support. As the demand for tailored financing solutions grows, Standard Bank’s product offerings empower clients with customized financial solutions that take into account the uniqueness of their respective industries.
